Gavi is a village in Pathanamthitta district, Kerala, India, 28km southwest of Vandiperiyar, a town in Idukki on N.H 220, the highway between Kollam and Madurai.

You can drive to Gavi from Vandiperiyar, 28 km from Kumily, near Thekkady. In Ranni reserve forest, it's part of Seethathode Panchayath in Ranni Taluk. It's part of the Periyar Tiger Reserve. It's 25 rupees for people and 50 rupees for vehicles.
It costs 25 rupees for cameras and 100 rupees for video cameras. Forest tent camping is available from November to March. Pathanamthitta is said to be the best way to get to Gavi. To get there, you'll need a sturdy vehicle like a Jeep. You can hire one either from Vandiperiyar or Kumily. You can get entry passes at the Vallakkadavu Forest Check Post. You're better off booking with Kerala Forest Development Corporation Ltd. because they handle the formalities.
