Madayipara is a flat-topped hillock located in Madayi, Kannur district of Kerala. On the northern bank of the Kuppam river, it overlooks Payangadi town. The site is known for its Madayi Kavu of Goddess Kali, Shakthi, and Shiva's Vadukunnu Temple. Madayipara hillock is home to many rare flora and fauna, and it's a great place to watch birds, as it's home to the threatened Grey-headed Fish Eagle. In order to protect this unique landscape and wildlife, it's been a protected area since 2001. Madayipara Tourism promotes eco-friendly practices to maintain this fragile ecosystem. They work to keep this paradise protected and cherished for future generations by encouraging tourists to respect the environment.
Madayipara experiences hot, humid weather throughout the year, making it the perfect place to escape the summer heat. The monsoon season brings plenty of rain to the area, creating a lush, tropical landscape. Located about 400 meters above sea level, it's surrounded by the Western Ghats mountain range and considered part of the Malabar Coast.
